WARNING: The start time is an ESTIMATE. (I'm hoping to start around then but Im working with 30 other people)
Live performance of my newest comedy song.
Each year, on the Jewish holiday of Purim, friends and family dress in costume and gather for a seudah. "Seuda" (pronounced seh-OO-duh) is Hebrew for an elaborate meal (usually with a religious connotation). The Purim seuda features a lot of singing (of traditional songs) and drinking. Believe it or not intoxication is directly linked to the holiday of Purim.
It's an ancient tradition to sing funny songs on Purim. Roughly 2 decades ago I started creating new songs (virtually every year) and singing them for my family.
Sometimes they bomb. Usually they do ok. Sometimes I land huge laughs.
I NEVER know how well it will hit until Im a couple stanzas into it.
This year, I am allowing you guys to watch it unfold live.
There may be one or two jokes you won't get, but most of them should work on any crowd.
The tune I will be using is one that most of my family will recognize but you likely will not. It is called "Lulei Sorascha" by Abie Rotenberg. The original is a blend of English, Hebrew and Aramaic. (My song is all English) It's a haunting melody that you can check out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn4V_uV2iZ4
Dont worry, you don't need to know the tune.
